Starting XI
Benjamin James, Michael Peppiatt, Joseph St. George, Augustine Rubino, Jonathan Schriner, Joshua Atkinson, Lucas Cross, Ryan Miller, Aidan Henninger, Emanuele Ghinelli, & Goalkeeper Jax Mautone
How It Happened
Thiel had to endure a barrage shots from the Barons to hang on and keep the game from getting out of hand.
St. George and Schriner put up multiple shots back-to-back-to-back. Thiel had one shot early in the 4th minute, then had to sit back and defend 7 Baron shots before they even had their second shot of the game in the 35th minute. Ryan Miller scored on another PK for what would be the game-winning goal just before halftime.
In the second half, Schriner added to the Barons lead putting them up 3-0. It was late in the game that the Tomcats had any amount of offense going. In the waning minutes they managed to get a couple shots, a corner kick, and eventually a goal. Their goal in the 86th minute was a last second effort that kept the Barons from another shutout.
