Short Story: The Barons earned their best team finish of the season, while Lauren Dosch continues her strong start to her collegiate career. 

Race Highlights
Franciscan Women's Cross Country had their best team finish to date this season, as they placed second at Thiel on Friday night. The Barons were one of seven PAC teams in attendance, as they got a preview of the same course that will be used for next month's PAC Championship.

Freshman Lauren Dosch continued her stellar start to her career with a second place finish. She was just four seconds of the winner, Kristen Prince, from Saint Vincent. Her time of 23:35.61 is the fastest 6K time by a Franciscan runner this season. She finished the race very well, as she would be sitting in fifth through three miles, but pushed hard down the stretch for her best finish of the season. 

Jessica Campbell was next to finish for the Barons, as she placed 6th. Her time of 23:54.56 was just five seconds off her personal-best time. Rachel Hurley made it three Barons in the top 10 finishers, as she placed ninth. Annie Seida knocked one minute off her last 6K to place 11th with a new personal-best time. Fifth to finish for Franciscan would be Angelina Toole. Her time of 25:52.95 would also be a new career best time for the senior from Philadelphia. 

That would give the Barons 42 points to place second behind St. Vincent with 29 points. The Bearcats had five runners place in the Top 10.

Up Next
Franciscan will now prepare for their last regular season meet which will be on October 13th. They will travel to Wilmington for the Jenna Strong Fall Classic. This will be their first trip to Wilmington in program history. There should be a talented field with many of the top teams from Ohio and the Great Lakes Region present. 

Kelly Roggensack Memorial Races
The Annual Kelly Roggensack Memorial Races will take place for the 16th time in its history, once again kicking off a busy Saturday on Homecoming Weekend. The races will begin at 8 am on October 7th, 2023, with the 1K Kids Fun Run followed by the 5K Run & 3K Walk at 8:20 am. Click here for more info and to signup
