How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan made the trip to Washington & Jefferson to compete in a tri-match with the Presidents and the Redhawks from La Roche. They would start off with a battle against the Presidents. This game would be a five-set classic with
Rani Hebert leading the way for the Barons with her game of the year. She racked up 28.0 points to tie the program record for most points in a game by a Baron in program history. She had 21 kills with a .380 attack percentage. She added five service aces and four half blocks.Â
Elizabeth Luebbers also had one of her best games of the year with 10 kills while holding a .304 attack percentage.Â
The Barons showed their resilience today, as they would be trailing two sets to one. They rallied to win the final two sets, and win their first five-set match since October 11, 2022 when they took down Chatham at home.Â

-
Grace Wallace had 46 set assists.
-
Sara Moore had a team-best 28 digs.

How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan would then play in game two, while La Roche was able to sit and watch the first game. Though the Barons may have been tired, their offense remain on fire for the second game. After losing to the Redhawks in five sets earlier this season, Franciscan was clearly motivated to show that they were the better team. They would have a more balanced attack in this game with three different Barons registering double-digit points.
Gabrielle Disselkamp led the way with 14 kills, while holding a .500 attack percentage. That would be the highest attack percentage by a Baron with double-digit kills in a game all season. The Barons would win 25-19, 25-13, 25-23.
Inside the NumbersÂ
-
Grace Wallace broke her own program record for set assists in a three-set match with 40.
-
Rani Hebert had a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
-
Annelise Davis and
Grace Wallace each had three aces.Â
Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will return home to take on Westminster on Wednesday night at Finnegan Fieldhouse. This will be the first PAC conference matchup of the year for both teams. The Barons will be attempting to break an eight-game losing streak to the Titans that dates back to 2013. Westminster will come into the matchup with a winning record, as they are off to a strong start in 2023 in non-conference play.Â
