  Franciscan hosted Grove City on a chilly Wednesday evening in Steubenville. The Wolverines struck early with a goal in the 10th minute to take the lead. The Barons answered with an equalizer 25 minutes later off the foot of
Elise Winogradoff. Then right before the half,
Eva Dexter took a long pass from
Teaghan Elmore and weaved through four defenders to score. The score of 2-1 held at halftime.Â
  The Wolverines did not waste time in the second half. They scored a pair of goals in the 51st minute, including the second of the day for Herrmann. They were not finished as the grabbed some insurance in the 72nd minute. That proved to be very valuable, as
Eva Dexter netted her second of the night later to set the final score of 4-3.

Who's Next?Â
Franciscan closes out the 2024 regular season with three consecutive road games. The first will be at Waynesburg on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The Barons are 7-7 all-time against the Yellow Jackets, as Waynesburg leveled up the all-time series last season with a win. They won 1-0 in Steubenville with the lone goal coming in the second half. This will be a pivotal contest in terms of conference standings for both teams in what will surely be a must-watch matchup.
