How It Happened
For the 16th and final time this season, Franciscan Volleyball took the court on the road or at a neutral site. The Barons made the trip to New Wilmington to take on the Titans on Wednesday evening for a PAC conference matchup. Westminster was able to keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Barons.
The Titans jumped out to an early 6-1 edge in the opening set. They maintained that lead for the majority of the set.
Sarah Clyde added back-to-back kills to set the score at 16-11.
Gabrielle Disselkamp and
Mary Jean Cadman had kills on a late Franciscan 3-0 run, but the Titans closed out the set 25-17.
Franciscan started with the lead in the second set, as
Sara Moore had a kill to hold a 3-1 edge. This set was tied at 7 and 11. From there the Titans went on a 7-1 run to take control.
Elizabeth Luebbers added a pair of kills late, but the Titans closed out this set by the same score as the first.
The Titan took an early lead in the third set. Franciscan pulled within three points several times, but the Titans kept getting timely points to keep a safe lead. They closed the set out with a 6-1 run to with the match in three sets.
Inside the Numbers
- Disselkamp and Cadman each had eight kills.

Mary Smart led the Barons with 13 set assists.

Sara Moore had 15 digs, and Disselkamp added 12.
- Clyde held a .333 attack percentage out of the middle.
Up Next
Franciscan returns home to conclude the 2024 season against Allegheny on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Barons are 1-4 all-time against the Gators, as they are in search of their first win over them since 2012. Allegheny has already clinched the #1 seed and a bye into the PAC Semifinal which will be played on Thursday, November 14th at Allegheny. The Barons hope to end their season on a high-note similar to last season when they won their final game at home against Thiel.
