Midfield Control Doesn't Lead to Goal Production

Franciscan 3, John Carroll 22

Franciscan Starters
Joanna Hilkert, Laura Rodriguez, Lillian Vale, Brooke Biagi, Bronwyn McGovern, Carolyn Cooke, Kiera Wilson, Ashley Morisey, Veronica Sims, Theresa Lyle, Margaret McCarron, & Goalkeeper-Caroline Racca

How It Happened
Biagi and Lyle combined for a total of 12 draw controls. The midfield production was by far the Barons strongest part on the field yesterday. However, that ball control didn't lead to much goal production. 26 turnovers limited the shot opportunities, and the team only produced six shots on goal.

Inside the Numbers
-Biagi's seven draw controls keeps her at the top of the PAC with 45 total draw controls and 9.00/game
-Racca recorded seven saves
-Biagi and Sims led the Barons in ground balls with three

Up Next
Franciscan will begin PAC play next Wednesday when they take on Saint Vincent at home at 4:00 p.m. The Barons are 4-7 all-time against the Bearcats with wins in four of their last five matchups. Last season, they lost by one in the regular season, but then would win by one at home in a PAC Quarterfinal matchup. Kiera Wilson came up big with four goals, and Carolyn Cooke would score the game winner late in the fourth quarter.
