How It Happened
Franciscan would have the lead early in this one, as they plated four runs in the first inning to take a 4-1 lead. Unfortunately, the Tomcats would take the lead right back with a seven spot in the second inning.
Samuel Tyler would get the Barons back on the board in the fifth with an RBI double, and then score later in the inning with Perez reached on an error. That would be it for the Barons offense, as this one would be complete after eight innings of play.Â
At the Plate
- Franzonello had three of the Barons 10 hits.
- Falconite and Tyler each scored two runs.
- Thiel compiled 23 hits.
On the Mound Â
- Cavalieri would take the loss after pitching two innings.

How It Happened
The Barons would go to
Wade Stoehr in game two, and the Tomcats' bats would not cool down much from game one. They would score early and often with nine runs in the first four innings of play. The Barons would plate a pair in the fourth to start to chip away at the lead. Thiel would go to work a the plate over the next four innings to take a commanding lead
Franciscan would enter the home half of the eighth down 13-2. Robb would double in Armstrong to pull within ten, but then Tyler would be thrown out at home to end this one at 13-3.Â
At the Plate
- Stoehr, Tyler, and Robb each had three hits.
- Robb with the lone extra-base knock.
On the Mound Â
- Stoehr took the loss with four innings of work.

The Barons will return to action on
TUESDAY at Penn State Beaver. A Monday doubleheader was originally scheduled, but it has now been shifted to a single game on
TUESDAY. The Barons swept the Lions in a doubleheader at Vaccaro Field last season in their only previous meeting. They look to keep up that success before getting back into PAC play.Â
