Barons and Titans Battle in PAC Doubleheader

Franciscan 5,  Westminster 1 - 9 Innings

Franciscan Lineup
Holden Armstrong LF, Peter Falconite 2B, Diego Perez DH, Wade Stoehr 3B, Samuel Tyler CF, Dylan Robb 1B, Devon Ashcraft SS, Nicholas Peffer RF, David Ferroni C, & Pitching - Jonathan Perez

How It Happened
Game one would be a pitching dual, as both pitchers would go long, including a nin-inning complete game from Westminster's starter. The Baron bats would remain quiet until the ninth. A pair of hits to lead off the ninth put the Barons in a threatening position with the score at 5-0. Stoehr drove in Ferroni, but that would be it as the Barons fell 5-1.

At the Plate
- Ferroni had a pair of hits.
- Armstrong had the lone double.
- Robb had the lone walk.

On the Mound
- Jonathan Perez pitched five and two thirds with five strikeouts.
- Jacob Paz pitched scoreless ball the rest of the way while allowing just one hit.
Franciscan 5,  Chatham 15 - 8 Innings

Franciscan Lineup
Holden Armstrong LF, Peter Falconite 2B, Benedict Urbanczyk C,  Wade Stoehr 3B, Samuel Tyler CF, Dylan Robb 1B, Colin Killian RF, David Ferroni DH, Devon Ashcraft SS

How It Happened
The Barons would get their bats going earlier in game two. Stoehr would double in Armstrong in the first inning to give the Barons their first lead of the afternoon at 1-0. Robb would score on a balk in the second to expand the lead to 2-0. Franciscan would keep up the offense in the third with RBI singles from Tyler and Robb to hold a 4-1 lead.

Westminster would get their bats going in the fifth with five runs of their own to chase Cavalieri, who had looked great through four innings. Armstrong would knock in Ferroni in the sixth, but that would not be enough, as the Titans would score seven unanswered to take this one at 15-5.

At the Plate
- Robb had a season-high four hits in his ninth multi-hit game of the year.
- Robb leads the team with a .391 batting average and eight doubles through today's games
- Falconite and Stoehr each had two hits.
- Killian drew the lone walk.

On the Mound
- Peter Cavalieri pitched 4+ innings with five earned.
- Shae Mummey, Sebastian Juarez, and Eric Colussy each pitched an inning of relief.

Up Next
The Barons will return to action at home on Saturday against Chatham. The Barons are 6-3 all-time against the Cougars, but Chatham was able to get the better of them in a doubleheader last season.
