How It Happened
The Wolverines would control game one with eight runs in the first six innings. The Barons would get a pair of runs in the sixth. The first run came on a wild pitch, and then
Holden Armstrong drove in
Devon Ashcraft.
Wade Stoehr would rope a home run to center field in the seventh to move into second all-time in program history with six thus far.
At the Plate

How It Happened
Game two would start out with the Barons taking the lead. In the bottom of the first,
Wade Stoehr would drive in
John Nemmers on a sacrifice fly. Also, the starter,
Peter Cavalieri would put up a pair of zeros in the first and second to get this one started out well. The Wolverines' offense would heat up with ten runs over the third and fourth innings.
The Barons would chip into the deficit in the fourth with a two run double from
David Ferroni. The Barons would also add runs in the fifth.
Devon Ashcraft singled in a pair, and then Peffer and Ferroni also drove in runs on singles. The Grove City starter would get through five to be eligible for the win, and he would as they would hold on to take game two.
At the Plate
- Franciscan had 14 hits with six players earning two hits.
- Ferroni had the lone extra-base hit.
- Ferroni led the Barons with three RBIs.
- Grove City hit three home runs
On the Mound
- Cavalieri allowed one hit through two clean innings.

Up Next
The Barons will look to finish out the 2024 season with a handful of non-conference games next week. They will host Pitt.-Greensburg on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for a single, nine-inning contest. The Barons are in search of their first win all-time against the Bobcats, but they have not played them since 2011.
