How It Happened
Franciscan would get on the board early and often with a six spot in the first inning to chase out the Saint Vincent starter. The Bearcats would answer with five runs in the second to make this a brand new ball game. The Barons would add insurance in the third with Peffer and Ferroni knocking in a run each. After a run from the Bearcats in the fourth,
Dylan Robb delivered a timely two-RBI single in the seventh to give Franciscan a 10-6 lead.Â
The Bearcats would score a pair in the eighth and ninth to tie it up a 10-10, as the Barons would have the lead all day until then. In the bottom of the ninth, the first two batters would each hit singles, but then after a pitching change, the Bearcats would get the next two batters out.
Devon Ashcraft would deliver an RBI single to score Stoehr and send his teammates onto the field to celebrate their first PAC win of the season.Â
