How It Happened
Franciscan made the trip to Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Presidents, who sit atop the PAC standings once again.
The Barons would be in control of this one early, as
Samuel Tyler would reach on an error by the right fielder that plated a pair of Barons.
Dylan Robb would then double in Tyler to give Franciscan a 3-0 lead in the first inning.Â
The Presidents would finally break through in the third with a pair of home runs to tie it up at 3-3. They would tack on a run in the fifth and seventh to take a two-run lead at 5-3. The Presidents would add some insurance in the eighth which would be plenty, as the Barons would not score in the ninth.Â
At the Plate
- Robb and Tyler each had two hits.
- Tyler hit his first triple of the season.
 - The Presidents tallied 17 hits.
On the Mound Â
- Cavalieri continued his strong play with five innings with four earned runs.Â

How It Happened
The Barons would take the lead to start game two as well.
Holden Armstrong would rip a triple, his first of his collegiate career, to start the early pressure. A wild pitch would score him to give the Barons a 1-0 advantage. The Presidents would respond with nine runs over the next two innings to take a commanding lead.Â
Wade Stoehr would drive in a run in the third and an error would allow another to score to give the Barons four runs. The Presidents' offense would continue to put up runs. The Barons would plate a pair in the sixth, and the
Diego Perez would drive in Urbanczyk in the seventh. The Presidents would add another in the eighth to end this over via the run rule.Â
At the Plate
- Armstrong had three hits including the triple.
- Tyler has two hits to give him four on the day.
- Stoehr walked three times, as the Barons walked seven times.
On the Mound Â
- It would be a bullpen day with five pitches pitching in this game.
- Ashcraft pitched the longest going two innings.

Up NextÂ
The Barons will return to action on Wednesday at Waynesburg in a PAC doubleheader that will start at 1:00 p.m. The Barons are 5-2 all-time against the Yellow Jackets, as they are looking to rebound off a pair of losses to them last season.
