Race Highlights
Franciscan Men's Cross Country began the 2024 season off at Wesminster for the Fisher Invite on Friday afternoon. After a brief weather delay, they were able to get the race in before darkness.
The Barons were led by the first collegiate win of
Andrew Madigan's career, as he crossed the finish line in a time of 16:10.83 in his first collegiate 5K race.
Miguel Daez placed third with a time of 16:22.29 in his first collegiate event after taking last season off from competition. A freshman,
Luke Hurley, earned a Top-10 finish, as he placed ninth with a time of 16:40.37. The fourth Baron to finish would be
Ryan Ozymy, as he placed 10th in his return to cross country. Just behind him was
Conal Delaney to round out the top five finishers for Franciscan.
That would give Franciscan 34 points to place second, just nine points behind Geneva in this seven team race.
