The Latest
- Franciscan took on Wheeling on Saturday in an Exhibition against the NCAA Division II Cardinals. They gave them a test, while playing 18 different Barons, as they fell 84-68. In their last regular season contest, they fell 66-51 to Chatham at home. 

- Josh Zimmerman led the Barons with 11 points against the Cougars, and Aiden Townsend chipped in nine points in second consecutive start. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
- After starting the season 0-4, the Yellow Jackets have responded strong, including three PAC wins. At 3-4 in league play, they are tied with the Barons in 7th with just the top six teams earning a trip into the conference tournament at the end of the regular season.

- A pair of veterans are leading the offense for the Yellow Jackets this season. Senior PJ Suggs leads the team at 15.1 ppg, and graduate student Antone Baker has scored 14.2 ppg. Baker leads the PAC with 10.1 rebounds per game.

- The Barons are 7-14 all-time against Waynesburg in an all-time series that dates back to 1954. Franciscan's last win though came on February 15, 2023 at Waynesburg. They won 65-62 behind a 24-point day from Josh Zimmerman.

Sawyer Steering the Ship
- Sawyer Butler leads the Barons in scoring at 17.5 ppg this season. 

- He is coming off of his lowest scoring game of the season, as Chatham held him to five points on 1-13 shooting. He has scored 20+ points in six games this season, and the Barons are 5-1 in those games.

- Franciscan has allowed 65.2 ppg which is second-best in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) so far. Waynesburg is averaging 67.1 ppg this season, second-least in the PAC.

Look Around the League
Mr. Zimmerman Tracker 
- Josh Zimmerman enters this game with 1,255 points to have the seventh most all-time. Don Rogich '79 sits in sixth with 1,394 points. Sean Hickey '21 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 1,692 points, and Paul Brownlee '56 sits atop the all-time rankings with 2,433 points.

-Zimmerman holds a pair of program records. He is top in all-time assists with 298, and he is the program's all-time leader in steals with 216.

- He sits 12th all-time in rebounding with 636 boards, as he just passed Fr. Tim Hirten '75. Bill Linderman '71 sits in 11th with 672 rebounds.  Matt Trent '20 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 781 rebounds, and "Big" Jim Smith '58 sits atop the rankings and all levels of collegiate basketball with 2,334 rebounds.

- He has played in 103 games so far over his six seasons in Steubenville which is the sixth most ever played by a Baron since 1946. Jim Smith played in the most with 113 over four years for the two-time All-American.
