Elmore Scores Hat Trick on Tomcats

Franciscan 5, Thiel 0

Starting XI
Catherine DeWolf, Elise Doyle, Teaghan Elmore, Bella Urso, Isabella Corley, Felicity Igot, Abigail Parker, Kierra Wilson, Brenna Pereira, Abby Measor, & Goalkeeper - Callie Giguere

How It Happened
For the third year in a row the Barons have had a player score a hat trick against the Thiel Tomcats. This year the women were on the road. The offense ignited and captain Teaghan Elmore scored her first career hat trick. In fact, Elmore traditionally has played in more defensive positions throughout her career. Coming into this season she had one career goal. She has added two PK goals so far this season, and has been searching for her first in-play goal. Yesterday she not only got her wish scoring a goal in play, but doubled her career total goals by netting three in-play goals.
With a 3-game win streak, the Barons have climbed into playoff position tied for fifth. The win yesterday didn't change their position tied for fifth, but begins to put some distance between them and the rest of the teams looking to overtake them in the standings.

Inside the Numbers
- Kierra Wilson's goal was her first game-winner
- The Barons didn't allow a single shot by the Tomcats

Who's Next?
Franciscan remains on the road to take on Grove City on Wednesday night. The Barons are 2-7-1 all-time against the Wolverines, as they look to snap a two-match skid against them. Last season, they fell by a score of 4-3. Eva Dexter scored a pair of goals, including one in the 83rd minute, but they ran out of time to find an equalizer. The Wolverines are the reigning PAC Champions, and they are off to another good start to this season.
