Ehresman Leads the Barons in Round #1

Vienna, Ohio - Franciscan Women's Golf began the PAC Championship with a round of 388 to sit in sixth place out of 10 teams. This round was 20 shots better than the previous best team score at Avalon Squaw Creek, as the Barons continue to show improvement.

How it Happened
Catherine Ehresman led Barons with a 94. That was her best round at this course in a PAC Championship Tournament round. She shot a 47 on the front and back nines. Her highlight hole was a birdie on the challenging par five #11. Natalie Smith carded a 97 with an up-and-down round that included four pars. Chloe Puhl also carded a 97, a new collegiate-best round for her. She closed out the final five holes at four over par to break 100 in a big way. Lauren David shot 100. She had a very consistent run of six consecutive bogeys on the back nine. She cut six shots off her opening nine with a 47 on the closing nine. Katie Black was a few big numbers away from being right at 100, as she carded a 110. That resulted in the Barons shooting a team score of 388 to sit in sixth out of 10 teams through Round #1

Up Next
Franciscan attacks Avalon Squaw Creek on Tuesday for Round #2 of the PAC Championship. With a tight leaderboard, the Barons look to climb up the rankings. There will then be two more Championship rounds in the spring to complete the four-round championship. Tomorrow's round will be the final competition round for the Barons in the fall semester.
