How It HappenedÂ
The Barons went to Washington and pummeled the President's goaltender with shots. The game felt very lopsided from the get go. The Barons accumulated 16 total shots compared to the President's 3. It was a miraculous effort by their goaltender to keep them tied at zeros. Late in the second half W&J scored a goal to go up 1-0. Once again, the Barons stayed poised and stayed on the attack. With the PA announcer in the middle of announcing "10 seconds remaining", the Barons drew a foul in the box and sent
Teaghan Elmore for a Penalty Kick. She rose above the pressure of the moment and tied the game 1-1. That is her second PK goal of the year.
Inside the Numbers Â
- Each goaltender made a pair of saves
- Igot had a game-high 5 shots
Who's Next?Â
Franciscan return home to face Westminster on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The Barons are 3-9-1 all-time against the Titans. The las time that they beat the Titans was the 2023 PAC Semifinal. The Barons won by a score of 2-1 in New Wilmington to head to the PAC Championship. The Barons are in search of their first win at home against the Titans since 2013. Katie Roemer scored a late PK goal for Franciscan to win in that matchup on the old Upper Soccer Field at Franciscan.Â
