Women's Lacrosse Drops Season Opener

How It Happened 
  The Franciscan Women's Lacrosse Team traveled to Muskingum for their season opener under new head coach Molly Lewis
    Veteran Theresa Lyle lead scoring off grabbing the first goal of the game just 15 seconds in. After that teams traded goals for the entire first quarter ending the quarter in a 5-5 lock. The Fighting Muskies took control of the game in the second quarter going on a seven goal scoring streak. The lead continued to grow in the second half. The Barons grabbed three more goals, but gave up ten more. 

Inside the Numbers 
- Dinoto and Cooke led the Barons in goals with two
- Dinoto's 8 draw controls were a team-high
- Goalkeeper Smith recorded 3 saves

Up Next
The Barons return to Steubenville for their 2025 Home Opener on Saturday. They will host Mount Aloysius at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Health System Field. This will be the first time that they take on the Mounties. They started their program in 2020 and were scheduled to play Franciscan before the season was shut down due to COVID-19. It will be their season-opening game after they went 7-6 last season.
