Franciscan 0, Baldwin Wallace 7
Wheeling, W.Va. - The Barons hosted Baldwin Wallace in Wheeling on a cold but sunny day in the Ohio Valley. The Barons fell to the talented Yellow Jackets, but they were able to get playing time for a lot of players in this non-conference match.
Doubles
The Barons used the same doubles pairings as last week against Otterbein.
Jeremiah Greve and
David Drejza fell 6-0 at #3 doubles.
Aidan Palladino and
David Bourdelais dropped 6-1 at #1, and
Christopher Yvars and
Aaron Heinlein fell at #2 by a score of 6-2.
Singles
The Yellow Jackets secured the first four wins (#1-#4) to clinch five team points to take home the team win.
Michael Nolan and
Joel Capelli got some work in in the #5 and #6 spots after not playing in doubles today.
Next Up
Franciscan will return to action in Wheeling next Sunday, as they take on another OAC foe in Mount Union. They have not played the Purple Raiders since 2019, and the Barons are looking for their first win over them since 2011. This will be the last match in the Ohio Valley for the Barons for a little while, as they head to Hilton Head Island for Spring Break and a handful of matches from March 9th-15th.
