How It Happened
Franciscan hosted a tough, non-conference foe in Ohio Wesleyan on a cold and breezy day in Steubenville. A bright spot for the Barons was Carolyn Cooke becoming the eighth Baron in program history to reach 100 points in a career. She did so by scoring both of the Barons' goals today. The Battling Bishops were able to score 11 goals in the first half, but the Barons held them to just six in the second half.
Inside the Numbers
- Cooke scored two goals on just three shots.
- Pinsonault led the Barons with four draw controls.
- Smith had a season-high 11 saves in goal for the Barons.
Up Next
The Barons will have two weeks between competitions, as they return to action at home on March 15th against Grove City. This will be the start of PAC play for the Barons, and it will be a tall task, as they play the reigning champions. The Barons are 1-3 all-time against the Wolverines dating back to 2022. Their lone win came in overtime in 2023, and they lost to them in overtime in 2022.
