How It Happened
Franciscan began PAC play on Saturday when they hosted the reigning Champions from Grove City. Gianna Dinoto got the scoring started a little over 30 seconds in with an unassisted goal, and that was the first of 13 goals in a high-scoring opening quarter. Dinoto added another this quarter, and Theresa Lyle scored her first of the day. The Wolverines were able to tally 10 goals in the first 10 minutes to take a commanding lead. Wilson, Lyle, and Dinoto each scored a goal in the second quarter, as the Barons trailed 16-6 at the half. Nadia Pinsonault scored a pair of goals in the second half, and the Franciscan defense improved. They were not able to climb out of the first half deficit but battled against the reigning Champions.

The Barons will remain busy and continue their four game homestand when La Roche comes to Steubenville on Wednesday.The Barons are 1-0 all-time against the Redhawks, as they beat them 22-2 in Steubenville in 2022. Annie King and Grace Deegan each netted five goals in that victory.
