Killian's Walk Off Winner Highlights the Final Day in Florida

How It Happened
Bodie got the Barons on the board in the first with an RBI single, but then Northwestern took charge of this one. They plated four runs in the third to take a 4-1 lead, a lead they maintained all the way till the final inning. John Nemmers led off the seventh with a pinch-hit single. Connor Lolli came in to run, and he scored on a Peffer double. Falconite then made it 4-3 on a sacrifice fly for the first out of the inning. Bodie kept up his strong day with another RBI single to tie it up at 4-4. Stoehr then grounded out to move Bodie to second and lead to the second out of the inning. The Collin Killian came through with a walk-off single that scored Bodie from second to give Franciscan game one.

At the Plate
- Peffer's double in the seventh was the Barons' lone extra-base hit.
- Bodie had two hits and two RBI.
- Ashcraft stole two bases.

On the Mound  
- Heidemann pitched 3.1 innings while striking out five.
- Jacob Cole shut them down with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

How It Happened
The Barons scored runs in each of the first two innings to take early command of game two, as they were flying high after the walk-off winner in game one. Stoehr doubled in Ashcraft to take the 1-0 edge. Ferroni doubled in Nemmers to give the Barons a 2-1 edge in the second. The Eagles then scored five runs over the next four innings to take a 6-2 edge into the sixth inning. In the sixth, the Barons put up a crooked number. Killian drove in Bodie on a ground out, and Nemmers doubled in Stoehr. Ferrroni later drove in Nemmers, and the Barons had pulled within one at 6-5. They could not get the equalizer across the plate, as that would be the final score of game two. 

At the Plate
- The Barons had four extra-base hits.
- Stoehr and Nemmers each had two hits.
- Nemmers scored two runs.
- Armstrong drew two walks.

On the Mound  
- Perez got the loss today with five earned runs over four innings. 
- Bodie gave up one run in one inning of relief.
- Stoehr pitched a 1-2-3 sixth with a strikeout.

Up Next 
The Barons return to Steubenville for their home opener on Tuesday, March 18th when they take on Muskingum in a non-conference game. The Barons are 1-4 all-time against the Fighting Muskies, as they are looking to snap a four-game skid against them. The Barons last beat them in 2022 at Vaccaro Field by a score of 9-8 in extra innings.
