How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse made the trip to Indiana this weekend, and it was a success, as they beat Anderson in non-conference battle.
Joseph James, Nathaniel Carter, and Ayden Burke scored for the Barons in a back-and-forth start, as the score was 3-3 after nine minutes of play. In the final five minutes of the opening quarter, Franciscan tallied five goals to take a commanding lead. Carter and James each added a pair of those goals, and Dominic Scordino scored his first to give Franciscan a five-goal edge heading into the second quarter.
The second quarter brought less offense, as each defense made some necessary adjustments. The Barons were able to score four goals to increase their advantage. Carson Smith scored the final goal of the half in the closing seconds to hold a 12-4 lead at halftime.
After scoring five goals in the first half, Joseph James was not done scoring. He found the back of the net two more times in the third quarter. Dominic Scordino also continued his strong day with goals to end the third and start the fourth, as the Barons continued to grow their lead. Scordino added two more in the fourth, as he scored six goals on the day. The Barons scored seven consecutive goals until Anderson scored four goals in a row to set the score at 20-10 with less than four minutes to play. Scordino and James each scored a goal in the final minutes to seal this win a put an exclamation point on their impressive game.

Franciscan will begin PAC play on Wednesday at home against Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. The Barons are in search of their first win all-time against the Gators, as they have fallen in a pair of PAC games over the last two seasons. The Gators come into this matchup with a below .500 record through non-conference play. The Barons and Gators each played Mount Union with the Purple Raiders coming out on top in each game.
