Barons Earn First Win of 2025 at La Roche

How It Happened 
   Franciscan Men's Lacrosse earned their first win of the 2025 season in a big, non-conference win over La Roche. Nathaniel Carter got the Barons on the board with a pair of goals in the opening minutes. Joseph James, Ayden Burke, and Alex Ahmann each added a pair in the opening quarter, while the Redhawks scored one to set the score at 9-1 after 15 minutes. Thomas Ryncarz and Jackson Vollmer added goals in the second quarter, and James added two more. The Barons shut down the Redhawks in the second quarter, as Franciscan held a 15-1 lead at the half. 

    The Barons added eight more goals in the third quarter. James scored a trio this quarter while Carter added a pair. Eli Everts scored his first of the day, and Alexander Espinoza played as goalie for the Barons for the first time in his collegiate career.  Carson Smith netted his first collegiate goal in the fourth, while Carter and Ahmann tacked on another, as the Barons won 26-3.
    
Inside the Numbers 
- James led the Barons with seven goals and four assists.
- This is James sixth double-digit point game of his career. (15 is his record)
- Masso earned his first collegiate win with three saves and one goal allowed.
- Carter had a career-high eight points with six goals.
- Ahmann had seven points with four goals.
- Charles Buckley won 10 faceoffs, and Joseph Plant won eight.

Up Next 
Franciscan will travel to Virginia Wesleyan over Spring Break to take on the Marlins on Tuesday. This will be the first time that these two teams play each other. The Marlins hold a record of 2-3, including a 12-4 loss against Chatham earlier this week.
