How It Happened
Game one can be summarized by defense and pitching. Kreuzwiser was nearly perfect, as he scattered two hits over seven innings of scoreless ball to earn the complete-game win. Defensively the Barons had their worst game of the year with seven errors. That enabled 10 unearned runs to score and give the Bearcats the first game.

At the Plate
- Armstrong and Peffer each had one hit.
- Franciscan struck out six times and did not draw a walk.

On the Mound
- Sagun went 4.2 innings while striking out four and allowing eight hits.
- Jacob Cole pitched well out of the pen while allowing zero runs over 2.1 innings of work.
Franciscan 11, Saint Vincent 9 - 9 Innings

Franciscan Lineup
Anthony Franzonello 2B, Holden Armstrong LF, Josiah Bodie CF,  Wade Stoehr 1B, John Nemmers RF, John Hall 1B, Andrew Hunton DH, David Ferroni C, Nicholas Peffer SS, & Pitching - Jonathan Perez

How It Happened
Game one had a different feel right off the bat in the first. After the Bearcats plated a run in the top of the inning, The Barons scored six of their own in the home half of the inning. Bodie, Stoehr, and Hunton each had RBI singles. For Hunton, it was his first collegiate hit and RBI in his first collegiate start.

Saint Vincent did not go down easy, as they responded with runs in each inning which culminated with them taking a 7-6 lead in the fifth. The Barons answered in the bottom of the inning with four runs of their own. Peffer drove in Hunton on a sacrifice fly to tie it up at 7-7. Armstrong and Stoehr then drove in three more runs to give Franciscan a 10-7 lead.

In the eighth, a wild pitch allowed John Hall to score to add some extra insurance. That run was nearly needed, as Wade Stoehr came in to get the final out in a bases-loaded jam. The Bearcats knocked in a pair of runs on a single, but then Stoehr got the strikeout to seal the deal.

At the Plate
- Franzonello led the Barons with four hits and two runs scored.
- Stoehr had two RBIs and three hits.
- Five Barons had a multi-hit game

On the Mound
- Perez went two-plus innings with five walks on the chilly day.
- Gildehaus allowed two earned runs over three strong innings to pick up his second win.
- Dax Clifton allowed just one hit over two scoreless innings.
- Franzonello pitched a clean eight before getting into some trouble in the ninth.
- Stoehr got the one-out save.
