How It Happened
Game one did not go the way the Barons had hoped, as the Lions took the lead in the second inning and controlled it for most of the way. Franciscan tied it up in the third on an RBI ground out by Fusco, but then Beaver regained the lead of 2-1 in the fourth. Sagun pitched well, as he pitched into the seventh before the Barons went to the bullpen. Four runs came across for Beaver in the seventh, which the added insurance was proven to be needed. The Barons had just two hits entering the seventh, but the bats came to play in the final inning. Bodie tripled in a pair before Stoehr drove in Bodie on a ground out. Unfortunately, that ended their momentum, as the Lions got the final outs to win game one.

- Fusco drove in his team-best 24th run.
On the Mound
