Nationally Ranked Presidents Sweep Barons

Franciscan 2, Washington & Jefferson 9 - 9 Innings

Franciscan Lineup
Anthony Franzonello DH, Holden Armstrong 2B, Josiah Bodie CF,  Wade Stoehr 3B, John Fusco RF, Colin Killian 1B, Andrew Hunton LF, David Ferroni C, Nicholas Peffer SS, & Pitching - Jacob Cole

How It Happened
Jacob Cole got the start in game one and provided four strong innings from the freshman. Harold Gildehaus followed it up with four more innings of two-run ball. The Barons had action on the base paths nearly every inning but did not get a hit until the sixth inning. They also plated their first run then to set the score at 5-1.

The Presidents were able to add some insurance runs, and that proved to be enough, as the Barons added one more run in the ninth to give us the final score of 9-2

At the Plate
- Colin Killian had two of the Barons' six hits.
- Bodie had the lone extra-base hit.
- Bodie drew two of Franciscan's five walks.

On the Mound
- Four innings tied Cole's longest collegiate outing.
- Gildehaus struck out one and walked just one while pitching four strong innings.
- Clifton pitched the final frame while allowing a couple of runs.
Franciscan 9, Washington & Jefferson 24 - 7 Innings

Franciscan Lineup

How It Happened
The Presidents' bats came fully alive in game two, as they scored more than one run in each of the seven innings. The Barons also put up some offense with nine runs on 11 hits, but this one was called after seven innings. Fusco became the first Baron to have three doubles in a game since Patrick Wallace in 2022. He drove in a a pair of runs, as did Stoehr, and Armstrong, but it was not enough to take down the nationally ranked Presidents.

- Bodie now has 49 hits, the third most in the entire PAC.
