How It Happened
It was Senior Day in Steubenville, as seven players who will be graduating in 2025 were honored before the game. The Bison quickly shifted the momentum their way and attempted to spoil the day, as they took a 4-0 lead after the top of the fifth. In the home half of the inning,
Wade Stoehr singled in
Holden Armstrong to get the Barons on the board. Another senior,
Anthony Franzonello had the big swing in the sixth, as he drove in a pair to pull within one run. The Barons had opportunities to tie it up in the final three innings, but they could not get the timely knock to bring that runner home.
The Bison took game one with their starter throwing a complete game.
At the Plate
- Armstrong and Hunton each had three hits.
- All 12 of Franciscan's hits were singles.
- Armstrong also had a sac bunt.
- Bodie picked up his 50th hit of the season.
On the Mound
- Sagun took the tough-luck loss after going six innings.
- The bullpen pitched three hit-less innings, as
Dax Clifton and
Anthony Franzonello were nearly perfect
