How It Happened
Weather delayed the start of baseball today by nearly three and a half hours, as this one started at 3:30 p.m. The originally scheduled doubleheader was cut short to just one game today as well with no lights at Garbark Field.
The Gators were able to plate three runs in the first and second innings to play with the lead in this one. Their pitcher was dominant, as he scattered six hits over seven scoreless innings to earn the complete game victory.Â
Game two will be made up on a date to be announced.
At the Plate
- The Barons had six singles.
-
Colin Killian had one of those hits as a pinch hitter.
On the Mound Â
- Sagun went one-plus inning while striking out a pair.Â
-
Andrew Heidemann pitched four innings while allowing just two earned runs.
-
Dax Clifton struck out one and walked none over the final two innings.
Up NextÂ
The Barons remain in PAC play on Saturday against Geneva. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. The Barons are 6-5 all-time against the Golden Tornadoes, but Franciscan has dropped four of their last five meetings. With storms predicted to be in the area, stay tuned for any delay or postponement news if needed.
