Tale of Two Game - Barons and Tomcats Split

Franciscan 16, Thiel 6 - 7 Innings

Franciscan Lineup
Anthony Franzonello DH, Holden Armstrong LF, Josiah Bodie CF,  Wade Stoehr 3B, John Fusco RF, John Hall 1B, Peter Falconite 2B, David Ferroni C, Nicholas Peffer SS, & Pitching - Andrew Heidemann

How It Happened
The offenses did not waste any time making their presences known. The Barons plated three runs in the first inning. Stoehr had the big swing with a two RBI double that scored Armstrong and Bodie.
Then Fusco singled in Stoehr. The Tomcats answered with a two-run shot in the home half of the first to pull within one at 3-2. Stoehr then kept up his prolific week of offense with a two-run home run in third to extend the lead to 5-2. In the fourth, the Barons added on with Nicholas Peffer manufacturing a run. He singled before stealing second base. Franzonello then executed a sacrifice bunt, and Armstrong drove him in on a ground out to make it 6-2.

The offense kept up the production in the fifth. Falconite singled in a pair, as Fusco and Stoehr scored. Then, Peffer singles in Falconite and Hall to extend the lead up to 10-2. The Tomcats plated two runs in the home half of the fifth, as their first response since scoring a pair in the first. That set the score at 10-4, as they headed into the seventh inning in the game that was scheduled for nine innings.

Falconite kept up his strong day at the dish with an RBI single. He scored Bodie, who singled earlier in the inning. Franciscan pitchers put up another zero, as they went to the top of the seventh. The Barons kept attacking the Tomcats , as Armstrong knocked in Peffer, and then they filled the bases full with no outs. Stoehr was able to add to his RBI count with a walk. Fusco made it a 10+ run advantage, as his double scored a pair and set the score at 15-4. Hall joined in on the five-run inning with a sacrifice fly to set the score of 16-4.

Gavyn Romanyak took care of business in the seventh with a couple of unearned runs, but that resulted in a Franciscan win 16-6.
