Men's Tennis Has Seven Players Earn All-PAC Honors

The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced their men's tennis All-Conference awards on Tuesday. Aaron Heinlein (So. Erie, Pa. / McDowell) led the way by earning First Team All-PAC in singles and doubles for the second season in a row. His doubles partner, Christopher Yvars (So. Bow, N.H. / Bow) was named First Team in doubles and Second Team in singles. Aidan Palladino (Gr. Danbury, Conn. / Regina Caeli Academy) earned First Team in singles and second team in doubles. David Bourdelais (Jr. Vienna, Va. / Paul VI Catholic) earned Second Team All-PAC on doubles. David Drejza (Fr. Litchfield Park, Ariz. / St. John Paul II), Joel Capelli (Fr. Onalaska, Wis. / Aquinas), and Jeremiah Greve (Jr. Steubenville, Ohio / Steubenville Catholic Central) earned Honorable Mention recognition.

Aaron Heinlein

Heinlein led the way for the Barons this season by earning double-digit wins in singles and doubles. Of his 10 singles wins, nine of them came at the #2 spot with one coming from the top position. He ended the season on a five-match winning steak. In doubles, he held a 12-7 record with a 7-1 PAC record. The majority of those matches came from the #1 spot, as he held an 8-2 record in those matches. He is the first sophomore to earn four First Team All-PAC honors over his first two seasons since Travis Mistry.

Christopher Yvars

Yvars joined Heinlein in being named First Team All-PAC in doubles. He held a 14-7 doubles record this season. That ties the program record for the most doubles wins in a season by a Baron. John Gallagher held an identical record in the 2016-17 season, as he was the last Baron to win 14 doubles matches in a season. The New Hampshire native held a 7-1 PAC record alongside fellow sophomore Aaron Heinelin. Yvars also led the Barons in singles wins this season with a 12-7 mark. He posted an identical 7-1 mark in PAC play while on the court by himself. All of his matches besides one came at the #4 position.

Aidan Palladino

Palladino ends his impressive career with two more All-PAC honors to now be a 6x All-PAC recipient. He mostly played at the #1 spot, and he held an overall record of 8-10. He went 5-3 in PAC play to set the tone at the top for the Barons. He held an 11-7 doubles record to earn Second Team honors. Palladino held a 6-2 mark in PAC matches. He had great success at the #2 spot with a 7-2 record, including wins in his last five doubles matches to end his collegiate career.

David Bourdelais

Bourdelais played alongside Palladino to earn Second Team All-PAC honors. This is the first All-PAC honor for the junior who took a major step up this season. He held a 10-8 doubles record with a 6-2 record in PAC matches. Alongside Palladino, they won seven matches at the #2 spot, including their last five to close out the season.

David Drejza

Drejza earned Honorable Mention All-PAC recognition for his singles play in his first collegiate season. He earned a 7-5 singles record with a 2-3 PAC record. All but one of his matches came at the #6 position. He also added a win in the PAC Quarterfinal against Westminster.

Greve Capelli

Capelli and Greve earned Honorable Mention honors in doubles. This was the first All-PAC honoring for both of them. This duo played all their matches together at the #3 position, including a pair of wins in Hilton Head while on Spring Break.
