The Latest
- Franciscan was picked to finish second in the PAC Coaches' Preseason Poll last week
- They finished 13-2-5 last season, winning the PAC Championship over Grove City, before falling to #19 Ohio Northern University in the NCAA Tournament
- They return five primary starters from last year's roster, with several experienced contributors graduating

Scouting the Spartans
- Finished last season 5-5-6, placing 7th in the University Athletic Association (UAA) conference
- Returns several key starters, including goalie Bradley Winter, defender Phillip Washington, and midfielder Adam Pluszczyk
- Franciscan and Case Western have never played against each other in collegiate competition

Scouting the Lions
- Finished last season 4-10-2, placing 5th in the PSUAC
- Franciscan leads the all-time series 2-0, with their last win coming in 2023 in a 7-0 victory over the Lions

The Defense
- Junior goalie Aidan Miller looks to continue his stellar career, as he sits tied for 6th all-time in saves, 1st in save percentage, and 1st in goals against average
- Franciscan looks to fill the open spots left on the back line by the graduation of four-time all-PAC honoree Joseph St. George and four-year starter Joshua Atkinson
- Seniors Aidan Henninger, Benjamin James, and Zachary Muldoon all bring significant experience, with a combined 144 games and 77 starts in their careers

Cross Tracker
- Senior forward Lucas Cross comes into the season tied with Sebastian Koehler for 2nd all-time at Franciscan with 37 career goals, trailing Leo Hermann with 69 goals
-In 2024, he set the single-season record with 20 goals in a season, breaking Herrmann's previous record of 19
- He also sits at 4th on the all-time points record with 81 points, trailing Nick Miller with 90, Koehler with 94, and Hermann with 162

The Coaches
- Franciscan's Brent Ridenour brings a wealth of experience to the Barons. This will be his 5th season with the Franciscan, following 21 seasons with Ohio Northern University. He has been to the NCAA Tournament 11 times as a coach and has won over 350 NCAA Division III games.
- Case  Western is coached by Carter Poe, who is entering his 6th season at the helm of the Spartans. He has made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances with them, as they did so in 2023 and 2022. Before his time at Case Western Reserve, he coached Mount Union for five seasons.
-Ridenour and Poe have coached against each other four times over the years, with Ridenour winning three of those conference battles. All four games have been shutouts by scores of 2-0 or 1-0, so we may be in store for another low-scoring contest on Friday
