Scouting the Spartans
- The Spartans come off a 9-5-5 season where they made the second round of the NCAA Tournament, losing 1-0 to Messiah University
- They outscored opponents 33 to 24, while attempting nearly double the shots on goal of their opponents
- They return a deep and experienced roster, including eight of their top nine points scorers
- In the Barons' only previous meeting with the Spartans during the 2020-21 season, Case Western took a 5-2 win at Franciscan
Who's in Net
- Both teams look to start a new goalie in net this year, with Franciscan's Rebekka Dill and Case Western's Maggie Storti both lost to graduation
- The Barons will look to either senior Carolyn Ososkie or freshman Callie Giguere to fill the void left by Dill.
- Ososkie brings one prior season of experience as backup goalie

- The Barons' star last season was freshman standout Eva Dexter, who earned PAC Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All PAC Honors, among other awards
-In her first season, she catapulted herself to 10th all-time at FUS in goals scored with 14, and 11th all-time in points with 30
-Led the team in goals, shots, shots on goal, points, and scored three game-winning goals

Veteran Defense
- The Barons will look for their experienced defenders to lead the way with a new goalie in net
- Senior Teaghan Elmore, a back-to-back Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, anchors the defense
-Senior Abigail Parker has started in all 32 games she has played in her collegiate career
-Senior Kierra Wilson brings 36 games and 19 starts to the back line
-Other names to look for include sophomore Catherine DeWolf, who started in 16 of her 17 games last season, and junior Isabella Corley, who started 13 out of 15 games her freshman season before taking last fall abroad in Austria
