Starting XIÂ

How It HappenedÂ
The Barons began the year in a big way taking on a goliath of an opponent in the Case Western Spartans. The Spartans made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament last year and were on 52-game undefeated streak in non-conference play. With a very young and talented team facing an opponent of that caliber is a great way to test the limits of your skill and prepare for conference play.Â
Dexter rattled off two shots in the contest, but neither found the back of the net. Six underclassmen started for the Barons including six more coming off the bench. The Spartans are a big eye opening introduction to collegiate athletics, and I am excited to see how the young women grow and respond in the next couple of games.
Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will resume non-conference play on the road, as they travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday. The Barons are 0-0-2 all-time against the Battling Bishops, but they have not played each other since 2014. Last season, they held a 9-5-3 record including a 2-2-3 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). This will be their third game of the season and home opener.
