Barons Fall to Battling Bishops on the Road

Franciscan 1, Ohio Wesleyan 2

Starting XI
Catherine DeWolf, Elise Doyle, Teaghan Elmore, Eva Dexter, Isabella Corley, Felicity Igot, Abigail Parker, Kierra Wilson, Brenna Pereira, Abby Measor, & Goalkeeper - Callie Giguere

How It Happened
The Barons made the trip to Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday evening to take on the Battling Bishops for another tough, non-conference match. Coach Nick Miller ran out the same starters from game one against Case Western. The Battling Bishops controlled the pace of this one from the start, as they accumulated 19 shots, nine of which were on goal in the opening 45 minutes. Nineteen minutes into this one, the Battling Bishops made it 1-0, but Franciscan answered quickly, just two minutes off the foot of Eva Dexter.

That score held for over 13 minutes until Bruns from Ohio Wesleyan netted her second goal of the evening. The Barons were able to get more shots on goal in the second half, but none were able to find the back of the net. Franciscan's defense stood strong in the second half, but the Barons ended on the closing end by a score of 2-1.

Inside the Numbers
- Dexter netted her first goal of the 2025 season.
- Giguere made 11 saves.
- Six Barons played all 90 minutes.
- The Battling Bishops to 32 shots to the Barons' 12

Who's Next?
Franciscan will remain on the road this weekend as they travel to Kenyon on Saturday. This will be the first time in program history that the Barons take on the Owls in Women's Soccer. Franciscan Women's Volleyball will also be in Gambier on Saturday. Kenyon Women's Soccer is off to a great start in the 2025 season, as they are 3-0 with two of those wins coming against PAC foes in Bethany and Thiel.
