Franciscan 0, Kenyon 3
Starting XIÂ
Catherine DeWolf, Elise Doyle, Teaghan Elmore, Eva Dexter, Isabella Corley, Felicity Igot, Abigail Parker, Kierra Wilson, Brenna Pereira, Abby Measor, & Goalkeeper - Callie GiguereÂ
How It HappenedÂ
The Barons registered three shots on goal against the Owls. The lack of opportunities in the attacking end made any chance of outscoring their opponent close to zero. The defense and freshmen goalkeeper did an impressive job holding off 11 shots on goal from the Owls, but three slipped through. Leading to an 0-3 start. Just like their male counterparts, the women are in the middle of a non-conference schedule full of high-end division III opponents. Time will tell how facing this level of competition shapes them for conference play.Â
Inside the Numbers Â
- Dexter limited to just one shot
- Giguere recorded eight saves
Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will continue non-conference play with their home opener on Wednesday night. They will host the Fighting Scots from Wooster at 5:00 p.m. at Trinity Health System Field. The Barons are 0-1 all-time against them with the lone match coming last season. Four first half goals were too much to overcome, but
Mary Wieszczek netted a second-half goal in the 4-1 game a year ago.
