Race Highlights
Franciscan Women's Cross Country picked up right where they left off, as they won the Bethany Invite on Saturday morning. This is the second meet that they have won this season, after they won the Fisher Invite over Labor Day weekend. The Barons have not won two meets in a season since 2018, when they won the Franciscan Invitational and the AMCC Championship.
Teresa Meli led the way for the Barons with her second-place finish on the 6K course. Her time was over 45 seconds faster than her PR time that she set at the last meet of 2024. Freshman
Mary Worden was right behind her in third, as she did not seem bothered by the extra kilometer in this race versus the Fisher Invite.
Emily Maag and
Francesca Rivers finished back-to-back in fourth and fifth, as the Barons continued their dominant showing.
Madison Gallagher rounded out the top five finishers for the Barons with a ninth-place finish.Â
That resulted in 23 points, as Franciscan was 18 points clear of Saint Vincent in second. Five PAC schools were in attendance, as well as a handful of NCAA Division II schools.Â
