Race Highlights
Franciscan Women's Cross Country competed among 281 runners on a hot September evening at the All-Ohio Championship. Several Division I and II schools were in attendance to give the Barons their biggest test of the young season. The Barons placed 13th overall and 6th among just the Division III schools.Â
Mary Worden led the way in 56th place with a new best time of 23:46.1 in the 6k race. She was the fourth-fastest Division III freshman in the race, as the reigning PAC Newcomer of the Week showed improvement.Â
Francesca Rivers was just two seconds behind her in 58th.
Teresa Meli continued her amazing year with a 65th place finish, and
Emily Maag placed 73rd to give Franciscan four runners in the top 75. Rounding out the top five finishers was
Madison Gallagher in 126th. Several other Barons set PRs with great improvement in the young season.
That gave Franciscan 289 points. Cedarville took home the overall title on their home course, and John Carroll was the best Division III school in attendance.
