How It Happened
The Barons kept their undefeated home record intact with a sweep over Pitt.-Greensburg on Thursday evening. The Barons were able to pick up their third sweep, as the team was dominant from start to finish.
The Barons took control of set one from the start, as they had six service aces in the opening set.
Molly Quinn and
Kaitlan Hickey each had three aces, as the Barons excelled from the service line.
Mary Jean Cadman and
Logan Hickey each had four kills this set while the Barons held a .333 attack percentage in the set to win 25-11.
Set two was very similar to set one. Seven more aces from the Barons, including four from
Mary Smart.
Logan Hickey added seven more kills to climb her attack percentage to .714 through two sets.
Rachel Lambert also made a big impact with four kills this set, as a spark off the bench.
Set three was more back and forth, as the score was tied on four occasions. Lambert added four more kills, and
Logan Hickey added three service aces. The Barons held a .382 attack percentage on the night, the third-best mark in a match in program history. Franciscan took the final set 25-15.

Franciscan remains at home as they take on Allegheny on Saturday. The Barons are 1-5 all-time against the Gators, and Allegheny enters 2025 as the reigning PAC Champions. They have had mixed results in the early going of the season. They lost a PAC match to Hiram last week, which was a surprise, considering the Gators were undefeated in PAC last season. With a strong home crowds, the Barons hope to beat the Gators for the first time since 2012 to remain unbeaten at Finnegan Fieldhouse.
