Franciscan women's volleyball made it five straight wins, securing another 3-0 conference victory Wednesday night at home against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. With the win, the Barons move to 11-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
How It Happened
The first set had the Barons jump out to a quick lead, scoring eight of the opening 10 points. Three kills by
Logan Hickey fueled the early lead. After the next 15 points were fairly exchanged, three more
Logan Hickey kills put Franciscan up 22-8. The visitors scored four of the next six, before a
Caroline Linklater kill gave the Franciscan its 25th point.
In set two, Franciscan scored the first seven points, and 13 of the next 15 points.
Anna Guard had three kills in that span. Waynesburg scored the next two, before the Barons scored another seven straight, thanks to multiple kills by
Logan Hickey. The visitors would only get one point in the set, as a service ace by
Logan Hickey sealed the set victory.
For set three, Waynesburg tied it at 2-2 for its tie in the match. The Barons scored five of the next six, before Waynesburg went on a run. After it became 13-10 Franciscan, the Barons scored four straight. The hosts sealed the win with a 7-2 run, with a block by
Emma Fox to get the team its 25th point and confirm yet another 3-0 sweep win for Franciscan.
Inside the Numbers
- The Barons did not concede a single ace to Waynesburg, whereas the hosts had six.

Logan Hickey led the team in kills with 20 on 30 attacks, and her sister
Kaitlan Hickey led the team in digs with 18.
