Doubles
The Barons got off to a good start in doubles.
David Drejza and
Kolbe Olszewski won first at #3, by a score of 6-1.
Aaron Heinlein and
Christopher Yvars fell at #1 by a score of 6-3, but
David Bourdelais and
Esteban Webber-Bernal came through at #2, by a score of 7-5. That gave the Barons a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
Singles
Singles did not go as planned. Heinlein had to retire early at #1, and Brevard gained momentum to win #1-#5. Olszewski was a bright spot, as he won his first collegiate singles match in straight sets. He won 6-3, 6-3 at #6.
Next Up
Franciscan will return to the Ohio Valley and take on West Liberty on Tuesday. These two teams played last fall.
Raymond Barrett won the #5 singles match, as the Barons fell 6-1.
