How It Happened
The long-awaited home opener final came for Franciscan, nearly a month later than originally scheduled. It was also the PAC opener. They hosted Westminster for a Saturday doubleheader.
Game one was much closer than the final score tells you. The Barons trailed 4-0, but then scored a run in the second, third, and fourth innings to set the score at 5-3. The Titans scored nine runs over the final three frames and took advantage of some defensive miscues to take a commanding lead. The Barons added a pair of runs in the eighth, as they were able to gather some offensive momentum to carry into game two.
At the Plate
- Each team had 15 hits.
- Lindia went 4-4 and scored two runs.
- Cook and Peffer each had three hits.
- Marquiss was a triple shy of the cycle
On the Mound
- Starter Romanyak was solid, allowing just three earned runs over five innings.

Vincent Patts pitched two good innings with one earned run.

How It Happened
Game two was all Barons in the early going. Bodie drove in Cook in the first to give the Barons their first lead of the day. Hunton and Peffer knocked in runs in the fourth, and the Barons led 3-0. The Titans pulled within one in the seventh, but the Barons answered in the home half, as
Matteo Lindia doubled in
Josiah Bodie. The Titans scored a pair of unearned runs in the eighth to tie it up at 4-4. With two outs in the ninth, the Titans were able to take their first lead of the game at 5-4. The Barons threatened in the ninth, but the Titans shut the door to take the sweep.
At the Plate
- The Barons added 13 more hits in this one.
- Lindia had the lone extra-base hit with a double.
- Hunton and Lolli each had three hits.
On the Mound
- Gildehaus threw a pair of hitless innings.

Jeremy Sagun struck out a career-high seven over five innings of work.

Zavier Zografos allowed a pair of unearned runs.

David Kempf and
Dax Clifton pitched in the ninth.
Up Next
The Barons continue PAC play at Waynesburg on Tuesday. The Barons are 6-5 all-time against the Yellow Jackets. Last season, they split a doubleheader. Franciscan won game one in 11 innings, by a score of 7-6.
John Fusco hit a walk-off solo shot to give the Barons the win.
