How It Happened
Franciscan remained on the road in PAC action on Tuesday at Saint Vincent. The Barons entered on a two-game losing streak after getting swept at Hiram on Saturday, but the Barons responded well in the early going.Â
The Bearcats struck first with a run in the first inning to take a lead on
Jacob Cole. The Barons gave Cole some run support in the third. With two outs, Peffer drew a walk to join Kempf on the base paths. Hunton delivered the big swing, a two-run double to give Franciscan their first lead. Cook added some insurance with an RBI single up the middle to knock in Hunton and set the score at 3-1.
The Barons were able to add on in the fifth and the sixth and grow the lead. Cook drove in a pair in the fifth, and a pair of Barons scored in the sixth to give them a 7-1 lead.
In the seventh, the Bearcats were able to chase Cole out of the game and score a pair of runs. The Barons scored a pair of their own on a two-run single by Lindia to add some insurance in the ninth and go on to win game one.Â
