How It Happened
Franciscan resumed PAC play at Geneva on Wednesday. After the first two innings being scoreless, Geneva broke through in the third with nine runs to take a commanding lead. The Golden Tornadoes tacked on five more runs in the fourth.Â
The Barons got on the board in the fifth. With two outs, Lindia scored on an RBI single by
Holden Armstrong. That was it for the Barons' offense. This one was called after seven innings with a final score of 14-1.

How It Happened
Franciscan took the first lead of the afternoon in the opening inning. Cook knocked in Peffer to give them a 1-0 lead. Geneva answered with one in the first inning. Unfortunately, the Barons could not dodge the big inning. The Golden Tornadoes plated seven in the third to take a commanding lead.
That is all the hosts needed. The Barons added a run in the sixth and seventh, but were not able to overcome the deficit.Â
At the Plate
- Peffer had two of the Barons' six hits.
- Geneva had 10 hits, none were extra-base hits.
- The Barons drew four walks.
On the Mound Â

Jeremy Sagun took the loss with six earned runs over 2.1 innings.

Vincent Patts pitched a clean 3.2 innings in a very solid relief appearance.

Peter Schwindt allowed just one hit over the final two innings.
Up NextÂ
The Barons return home on Thursday to take on Kent St. Tuscarawas. The non-conference doubleheader will begin at 3:00 p.m. This is the first time that these two teams have played each other in program history.Â
