The Latest
- The Barons held a record of 13-25 last season with a 6-14 mark in the PAC.
- Wade Stoehr and Josiah Bodie were named Second Team All-PAC last season. Bodie returns in center field, but with Stoehr graduating, the Barons will need to fill their hole at third base and closer.
- Coach Rick Carver has brought in a large recruiting class of players from all across the United States and Canada. We shall see many of them make their debuts early this season before getting into PAC games in the end of March.Â
Scouting the Opponents
-Â The only traditional doubleheader of the trip will be Sunday against Lasell. It will also be their first action of the year, as the school from Massachusetts was unable to get a pair of earlier scheduled contests played. Last season, they won 25 games and made their conference tournament.
- Monday, they take on Washington (Md.). This will be their 10th game of the season. Last year, they went 19-21, including a split with the Barons in Florida.
- On Thursday, they battle Earlham. This will be the Quakers last game of their Florida trip. Last season, they held a 17-21 record.
- On Friday morning, they will take on Gettysburg. The perennial powerhouse won 30 games last season and was nationally ranked throughout the year. The Barons almost upset them last season, but fell by a score of 2-0.
- On Friday afternoon, they conclude the trip against Marywood. Last season, they held a 16-21 record while scoring over six runs per game.
Matchup History
- The Barons have played all five of these teams in previous spring break trips.Â
- Franciscan has beaten Washington and Marywood before, but they are in search of their first win against Lasell, Earlham, and Gettysburg.
Returning to the Mound
- After earning the most strikeouts for the Barons last season, Jeremy Sagun returns in the 2026 season after playing in 11 games, including nine starts last season. Sagun recorded 28 strikeouts, a 6.33 ERA, and pitched 48.1 innings.Â
- Dax Clifton enters the season after pitching in 16 games and earning a 4.88 ERA last season. He looks to be a reliable arm out of the bullpen once again in 2026.
Returning to Lineup
- Earning Second Team All-PAC last season,
Josiah Bodie returns to the plate for the Barons. Bodie led the team with a .394 batting average and 56 hits, including 14 doubles, two triples, and two home runs. Also in center field, Bodie recorded a perfect fielding percentage with 119 putouts for the Barons in the 2025 season.Â
- In the 2025 season, Nicholas Peffer led the team in assists with 100, as well as 74 putouts. He also logged a .310 batting average and 40 hits last season.  Â
- Holden Armstrong also returns to the roster, with a batting average of .324 last season. In the field, Armstrong recorded 61 putouts and 24 assists.Â
Home Sweet Home
- Last season, the Barons batted .333 at Vaccaro Field, nearly 50 points higher than their road numbers
- They will not be at home until March 17th, but they will be in the home state of a trio of players while on Spring Break.
- Michael Manocchio, Luis Saillant, and Colin Killian are from the Sunshine State.
- Killian, the lone returner of the bunch, batted .323 last season while playing in 27 games at first base. Manocchio was listed as a PAC Player to Watch and should be in the mix at third. Saillant is a left-handed outfielder who should get his first collegiate action in his home state.
