How It HappenedÂ
The Barons went up early on a strong attack that is fully healthy for the first time since early this season. In the scoring frenzy, some of the seniors were able to get their beaks wet on the night dedicated to them. Burke tallied up seven points while the turnover causing machine LeBlanc added three goals of his own.Â
The faceoff circle was again not a point of strength, but the defensive unit was excellent tonight. The only real down side of the night was the slew of penalties coming from a team that leads the league in fewest penalty minutes.Â
Luke Schauble had an excellent look at his first goal of the season and would've been second of his career, but missed millimeters to the right. His shot bounce off the inside edge of the goal post.
The Barons were also able to see their other highly talented freshmen goalie in Mattias Bunai. He played the entirety of the second half making three saves.
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Kirk made 3 saves
- the Barons assisted on 15 of their 25 goals
- Burke led all goal scorers with 5 goals
- James, Masso, and Wyatt Balger all netted 4 goals
