Franciscan University opened the season in dominant fashion, defeating Christendom College 34–5 in a hard-fought and highly physical match. The Barons came out with intensity on both sides of the ball, controlling the game through strong attacking pressure and relentless defense. Franciscan found the try zone six times throughout the match, with freshmen Joe Walker and Chris Bateman each scoring twice, while senior Dom Grecol and junior JP Treece added a try apiece.

The physicality of the match was set by an outstanding defensive effort from the Barons. Grecol led the way with an impressive 19 tackles, setting the tone for an aggressive Franciscan defense that consistently pressured Christendom and limited its opportunities. The combination of disciplined defense, aggressive tackling, and a balanced attack allowed the Barons to pull away and secure a convincing victory in their season opener.

With the first win of the season under their belt, Franciscan now turns its attention to its next challenge.
