How It Happened 
    An inspired, ironclad defensive performance led by senior goalkeeper Callie Giguere powered the Franciscan women's soccer team to a hard-fought 0-0 draw against a relentless Kenyon squad on Saturday afternoon at Trinity Health System Field.
    Facing a highly aggressive Owls attack that pressed deep into the Franciscan half, Giguere put on a masterclass in goal, single-handedly neutralizing Kenyon's offense. The Barons' netminder was spectacular from the opening whistle, turning away all six shots on target she faced. Her composure under pressure proved to be the ultimate difference-maker, split evenly with three decisive saves in each half to turn away premium scoring chances from Kenyon's frontline.
    While the Owls generated statistical advantages in shots (12-2) and corner kicks (8-0), the Barons' defensive backline refused to break. Center backs Isabella Corley and Bella Urso logged all 90 grueling minutes, routinely clogging passing lanes and forcing Kenyon into low-percentage looks. In the second half, Franciscan found their footing offensively and threatened on the counterattack. Forward Theresa English created two dangerous opportunities that just missed the target, pushing the Kenyon defense onto its heels and showing the Barons' dangerous quick-strike potential.
    By weathering an early storm and locking down the defensive third, Franciscan preserved their unbeaten start to the season, moving to 1-0-1 overall.
