How it Happened

• Set one was the closest of all the games, with ASU coming out to an early 5-2 edge. The Lady Barons would climb back and cut it to 10-11 with a kill from Emily Nutter. The game would go back and forth, with Franciscan being the first to fifteen from a kill by Emma Birong. The game would get knotted up at 19-19, only to have Franciscan go on a 6-0 run to win set one.
• Franciscan would come out to an early 6-3 lead in set two, behind two kills by MaryKate Taylor. Taylor would continue her strong play as she would serve on an 8-0 run to give the Lady Barons a 16-5 edge, including three aces.A few points later, a 6-0 run, including two kills by Emily Nutter would put the set out of hand.
• A back and forth beginning of set three gave the Pioneers a 3-2 edge. A 9-0 run by the Lady Barons, including 2 service aces, would give them a 11-3 commanding lead. Franciscan would control the Pioneers the rest of the game and finish the game on a 4-0 run, including two kills each by Renee Antonelli and Meghan Bayer.
