Steubenville, OH - The Lady Barons fall to conference opponent, PSU Altoona, by a score of 61 to 74.  

The Basics

Location: Steubenville Highschool Natatorium 

Short Story: Franciscan dropped its home opener to Penn State Altoona. PSU won six of the afternoon's event, while FUS took home two.  

How it Happened 

• Colleen Farabaugh started off the day with a win for the Lady Barons in the 200 yard freestyle race, with a time of 2:05.96. Angeline McCown also competed in the race, finishing in 4th with a time of 2:33.17.  

• Avery Heisey won the 50 yard freestyle for Altoona, with a time of 27.91, with Franciscan's Maris Bey following in a close second at 28.35.  

• In the 200 yard IM, Grace Dangelo had a strong finish in first at 2:16.60, followed by Colleen Farabaugh, Kate Cunningham and Angeline McCown for Franciscan.  

• The Lady Barons were well represented in the 100 yard freestyle, led by Kate Cummingham placing second overall, with a time of 1:02.40, followed by Maris Bey, Megan Robson, Mia Gil, and Rebecca Poston.  

• Grace Dangleo again had a solid win for her team, this time, in the 500 yard freestyle. She finished with a time of 5:31.41, followed by FUS's Colleen Farabaugh at 5:43.83, and Kaitlin Heil of PSU at 6:36.43 

• In the last event of the day, the 100 yard breaststroke, Franciscan took home the gold with Katie Cunningham coming in with a time of 1:16.09 for a first place finish, followed by Angeline McCown in 4th, Mia Gil in 5th and Rebecca Poston in 6th.
