PITTSBURGH, Pa. – After a close first set, the Franciscan women's volleyball team was swept on the road by Chatham 3-0, Wednesday evening.

The Short Story: The Lady Barons kept the first set close, but Chatham ultimately won 25-23 before cruising to a 25-12 win in the second set and came back to win the third set, 25-20.
How it Happened
• Trailing 23-20 in the first set, Franciscan scored three-straight points thanks to a kill from sophomore
Renee Antonelli and a pair of unforced attack errors by the Cougars. Chatham got its first set point with a kill from Elivia Wagner before Rylee Ritko handed Chatham the win with a kill.
• Chatham raced out to a 18-10 advantage over Franciscan before the Lady Barons trimmed the gap to 18-12 with a Chatham service error and a kill from Marykate Taylor. Chatham closed out the set with a 7-0 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
• The third set was a back and forth affair with neither team taking more than a two-point lead until Franciscan pushed its advantage to 19-16. Chatham tied the set at 19-19 before pushing its lead to 24-19.
• Franciscan held off the first match point with a kill from junior
Meghan Bayer but Chatham ended the match with a kill from Emily Richie.
